QATAR CRA issues WIFI 6E regulation

On April 26th, Qatar published on its website its policy regarding WIFI 6E. In that document, CRA explains that the decision on the spectrum assignments for WIFI 6E will be done in two phases.

Phase 1: An immediate release of a class license for the use of WIFI 6E in the band 5925-6425 MHz

Phase 2: The decision on the assignment of the upper band 6425-7125MHz will be taken after the WRC 23

Also, CRA instructed on the use of the lower band as follows

  • Indoor use Only @23dBm
  • Outdoor and Indoor use @14dBm

Qatar CRA issues a new Frequency Plan

Qatar CRA issued a new edition of the National Frequency Allocations and special assignements. These new edition comes with a summary of assignement for Telecommunication services like Maritime service, Broadcast; Mobile, Short Range devices….etc…

Qatar CRA calls for comments on WIFI 6E

CRA is calling for comments regarding its intent to make available spectrum in the 5925-7125 MHz band for use of RLAN devices (WIFI 6E)

Interested parties have the opportunity to submit their views and comments on the consultation document.

Comments should be submitted by email no later than April 8, 2021 to type.approval@cra.gov.qa. The subject reference in the email should be stated as “Class License for the use of RLAN devices over 5925-7125 MHz band (Wi-Fi 6)”

Qatar: Public Consultation on Class License for Short Range Devices – Version No. (4)

Qatar CRA is updating the version (N°3) of Class License for Short Range Devices which is effective since April 17th 2018.

The draft of version 4 has been published on CRA website on Feb 17th 2021.

All stakeholders are welcomed to provide their views and comments in response to the content in this consultation. Comments should be submitted by email no later than March 11, 2021 to (type.approval@cra.gov.qa) or spectrumaffairs@cra.gov.qa).
