OMAN TRA published on its website a call for comment regarding IoT Security regulatory framework than showcases the TRA vision towards a secure IoT ecosystem.
A list of security standard is also proposed.
Consultation response must be send before 15th January 2022
OMAN Ministry of Commerce notified the WTO of its intention to adopt a decree on December 2021 requiring compliance to the European directive 2011/65/EU and its 2015 and 2017 amendments for telecommunications and medical devices.
The expected date of enforcement would be June 2022.
However, TRA has already put in place such requirement for Telecom devices since 30 June 2020.
TRA is calling for comment on the intent to make the lower part of the frequency band 6 GHz (5925-6425 MHz) available for WiFi and other RLAN devices on license-exempt basis.
The comment window will close within 5 weeks from the date of publication of the consultation document (March 30th 2021)
