On March 30th, ICASA has published on its website a press release  declaring the for all the renewals of Radio Frequency spectrum licenses in which the due date is end of March has been extended.  The due date to pay the fee of renewal has been always set in March 31st, given the current circumstances and as South Africa is on lockdown for 21 days, the due date has been extended to June 30th.

Following the speech given by President Cyril Ramaphosa On 23 March 2020 in which he addressed the nation and announced the 21-day national lockdown with effect from midnight on Thursday, 26 March 2020, as a decisive measure to save the lives of South Africans from COVID-19 infection. ICASA announced that its teams will be working remotely from home, and encouraged its customers seeking type approval services to use their online portal put for that purpose.  However, in order to ensure the continuity of important services, some staff members will still attend to business from the office. 

South Africa ICASA gazetted TV White space regulation

ICASA  published  TV White Space regulations on 23rd March offical Gazette. This means that subject to type approval and authorization through a geolocation database, TVWS wireless equipements can now be used.
