PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE DRAFT INFORMATION
MEMORUNDUM FOR THE AWARD OF 700MHz SPECTRUM
EXTENSION OF TIME FOR SUBMISSION OF COMMENTS
On the 6th March, 2018 the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority
issued a public notice in consultation for a draft Information Memorandum
for the award of 700MHz spectrum through auction. The notice required
written comments to be sent to TCRA before 16:00 on Monday 19th March,
2018.
Stakeholders and the general public are hereby informed that time for
submission of comments has been extended to 26th March, 2018.
The comments and any other enquiries should be sent to email address
spectrum.auction@tcra.go.tz or by post to Director General, Tanzania
Communications Regulatory Authority, 8th Floor Mawasiliano Tower, 20
Sam Nujoma Road, P. O. Box 474, Postcode 14414 DAR ES SALAAM before
16:00 on Monday 26th March, 2018.

Interested persons and stakeholders are urged and encouraged to read the
IM document, provide comments and observe the above time schedule.

Public Consultation Draft Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Regarding Table of Spectrum of Radio Frequency Spectrum Indonesia

In relation to the amendment to the draft Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Informatics on the Indonesia Radio Frequency Spectrum Allocation Tables previously consulted on 8-15 November 2017, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics re-conducted public consultations to obtain community and stakeholder input on the RPM Kominfo.

Changes in RPM Kominfo on Table Spectrum of Radio Frequency Spectrum Indonesia are as follows:

  1. Changes are made in order to follow up the plan of using the radio frequency band 2520-2670 MHz for the purposes of International Mobile Telecommuniacations (IMT) and the need for broadband radio bandwidth for broadband.
  2. The changes referred to in number 1 include:
    a. Changes to the Indonesian Footnote INS26A, which originally reads:
    “Radio frequency band 2 520-2 670 MHz is used for Broadcasting Satellite Service (BSS). Radio frequency band 2 500-2 690 MHz is planned for the implementation of the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) system. (TASFRI Rev. 2017) “to
    be:
    “The use of the 2 520-2 670 MHz radio frequency band for the Broadcasting Satellite Service (BSS) service is limited to 31 December 2024. After December 31, 2024, the use of the 2 520-2 670 MHz radio frequency band for the broadcasting satellite service can not solicit protection from harmful interference caused by other services. In the event that the termination of the use of this band for the broadcasting satellite service is carried out prior to 31 December 2024, there will be an existing BSS user relocation process in accordance with the applicable provisions. Radio frequency band 2 500-2 690 MHz is preferred for the implementation of the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) system from 1 January 2025. (TASFRI Rev. 2017) “. 
    b. Adding information in section 3.3 Indonesia Footnotes.

Indonesia: Announcement of BBPPT Telecommunication Equipment and Equipment Testing Sample

ANNOUNCEMENT

No 265/BBPPT.31/SP.04.06/2/2018

Based on Article 16 paragraph (1) and (2) Permenkominfo no 18 of 2014 on Certification of Telecommunication Equipment and Equipment which reads:

(1) “The test sample of telecommunication equipment and apparatus as referred to in Article 13 paragraph (1) letter c which has been tested shall be taken back by the applicant within 30 (thirty) calendar days since the issuance of certificate”

(2) “If within 30 (thirty) calendar days as referred to in paragraph (1) is not taken by the applicant, the test sample shall not be the responsibility of the Testing Hall and may be destroyed”

In relation to the foregoing, we hereby convey to the applicant the testing of telecommunication equipment in the Central Telecommunication Equipment Testing Center (BBPPT) to immediately take the test sample no later than 30 (thirty) calendar days after the Result of Test Result Report (LHU). A test sample not taken after a period of time is not the responsibility of BBPPT. BBPPT is also not responsible for damage to test samples that occurred during the testing process took place.

Kuwait CITRA: WIFI user registration and Frequency bands

On 2 February 2018, The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority in Kuwait, published a regulation  on WIFI usage. The regulation details the approval scheme for Wifi hotspots owners and their obligations regarding user registration.

The regulation also list frequency bands used by Wifi in Kuwait as follows:
