Congo DR ARPTC publishes a new Type approval regulation
On July 11th 2022, ARPTC issued a new type approval regulation. The main changes are related to validity that change from 2 to 5 years

Kenya CA issued new Guidelines for Short range devices. Devices complying with the operation terms of the guideline are exempt from CA Type approval
Syria – SyTRA issued Updated Regulations for RTTE
SyTRA has recently published the “Instructions and Guidelines Regulations for Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment”. All equipment that uses the radio frequency spectrum and telecommunications terminal equipment are subject to type approval regulations in Syria.
The most important updates are:
- A sample can be requested - The validity remains 3 years - however, a renewal request must be submitted within the last 3 months of validity or a new approval process is required.
Namibia – SIM Registration Awareness
The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) on Tuesday, 07 June 2022 officially launched the National SIM Registration Consumer Awareness Campaign, which aims to educate the public on the importance of the registration of SIM cards in Namibia. The registration process will be carried out in terms of Regulations and License Conditions made pursuant to Part 6 of Chapter V of the Communications Act (No. 8 of 2009).
From January 2023, registration of all SIM cards will be mandatory.
