Botswana launches an invitation to bid for IMT Spectrum

Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA/ the Authority) hereby invites companies to submit applications for International Mobile Telecommunications Spectrum (IMT) Licences. This is for the Provision of Mobile Broadband Wireless Access Services in the Spectrum Bands 450 – 470 MHz, 790 – 862 MHz, 2110-2200 MHz, 3400 – 3600 MHz and 2500-2690 for Broadband Wireless Access. The Invitation to Apply (ITA) can be downloaded from BOCRA website www.bocra.org.bw

Zambia ZICTA publishes a consultation on 5G

ZICTA launched a public consultation on 5G deployment in the following bands

The consultation document discusses the current status of those bands and calls for comments to determine the opportunity and the strategies to adopt.

 Saudi Arabia – CITC publishes preliminary public consultation on Spectrum Auction 2021

CITC Saudi Arabia is preparing a spectrum auction in the second half of 2021 which will include spectrum in the following bands: • 600 MHz FDD; • 700 MHz FDD (723 - 733 / 778 - 788 MHz); • 700 MHz SDL; • 1980 - 2010 / 2170 - 2200 MHz FDD; and • 3800-4000 MHz TDD. • 2x5 MHz each in the 410 - 430 MHz and 450 - 470 MH The purpose of this preliminary consultation is to obtain initial views from the industry on key topics that will help shape our thinking on the design of the award. The closing date for this consultation is July 8th 2021

MAURITIUS: DECISION OF 15 APRIL 2021 ON THE OPENING OF THE 2 500 –2690 MHZ AND 3 400 –3 600 MHZ FREQUENCY BANDS FOR OPERATION OF IMT NETWORKS, INCLUDING 5G

ICTA decides:

1- The frequency bands 3 400 – 3 600 MHz be made available to licensed Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) Operators for operation of terrestrial IMT systems, including 5G New Radio;

2- The frequency band 2 500 – 2 690 MHz be made available to licensed Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) Operators for operation of terrestrial IMT systems, including 5G New Radio;
