Public Consultation Draft Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Regarding Table of Spectrum of Radio Frequency Spectrum Indonesia

In relation to the amendment to the draft Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Informatics on the Indonesia Radio Frequency Spectrum Allocation Tables previously consulted on 8-15 November 2017, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics re-conducted public consultations to obtain community and stakeholder input on the RPM Kominfo.

Changes in RPM Kominfo on Table Spectrum of Radio Frequency Spectrum Indonesia are as follows:

  1. Changes are made in order to follow up the plan of using the radio frequency band 2520-2670 MHz for the purposes of International Mobile Telecommuniacations (IMT) and the need for broadband radio bandwidth for broadband.
  2. The changes referred to in number 1 include:
    a. Changes to the Indonesian Footnote INS26A, which originally reads:
    “Radio frequency band 2 520-2 670 MHz is used for Broadcasting Satellite Service (BSS). Radio frequency band 2 500-2 690 MHz is planned for the implementation of the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) system. (TASFRI Rev. 2017) “to
    be:
    “The use of the 2 520-2 670 MHz radio frequency band for the Broadcasting Satellite Service (BSS) service is limited to 31 December 2024. After December 31, 2024, the use of the 2 520-2 670 MHz radio frequency band for the broadcasting satellite service can not solicit protection from harmful interference caused by other services. In the event that the termination of the use of this band for the broadcasting satellite service is carried out prior to 31 December 2024, there will be an existing BSS user relocation process in accordance with the applicable provisions. Radio frequency band 2 500-2 690 MHz is preferred for the implementation of the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) system from 1 January 2025. (TASFRI Rev. 2017) “. 
    b. Adding information in section 3.3 Indonesia Footnotes.
